Life and career
Teo Kostovski is a Macedonian creative, entrepreneur, and multidisciplinary artist originally from Tetovo and now based in Skopje. His path has never followed a conventional creative route - it has moved through law, coding, music, poetry, languages, acting, photography, film, marketing, and technology, with curiosity as the common thread. His creative education began early. Alongside his regular primary education, Teo attended the “Todor Skalovski Tetoec” music school from the age of 8 to 14, studying piano and singing. He later studied law in high school and at university, while continuing to write poetry well into his college years. His fascination with languages started even earlier. At just three or four years old, he began picking up German from cartoons and soon taught himself English. From the age of 11 to 18, he further developed his English at Pegasus ELS in Tetovo. Today, he speaks Macedonian, English, and German fluently and is currently learning Spanish.Around 2022, Teo also stepped onto film sets as an actor, initially working as an extra. His credits include “Dj Ahmed” by Georgi M. Unkovski and “Skateboarding is not for girls” by Dina Duma, alongside appearances in additional films and television commercials. While these roles were relatively small, they gave him firsthand experience of film production from in front of the camera. At 19, Teo discovered photography, turning what began as a personal passion into a professional career. Four years later, he expanded into videography, building experience across commercial photography, filmmaking, copywriting, marketing, social media, sales, and brand communication.Professional ExperienceTeo’s professional career began in communications and digital work. He worked as a Copywriter at A Data Pro, developing written content and communication for international clients, followed by a role as a Marketing Agent at Prospertop. He also worked as an Online English Tutor at Bibo Global Opportunity, gaining early experience working remotely with international clients and students. He later moved into social media and sales, working as a Social Media Manager at M Care, where he focused on social media strategy and target audiences, and as a Sales Agent at Slice, a US-based technology company.Alongside his corporate and digital career, Teo developed his freelance creative practice, working professionally as a photographer, videographer, and copywriter. He also worked as an Assistant Photographer and videographer at SKALA School, further developing his commercial photography skills.
His creative work has since included collaborations with a wide range of companies, brands, organizations, artists, and public figures. His photography, videography, and creative work has been associated with Wolt, Fanta Europe, Fashion Weekend Skopje, Fashion Festival Skopje, MJ (now MIJA) Hats, Teatar Za Tebe, Indigo Tattoo Studio, MKC, and Public Band, among others. He has also worked with influencers including Aleksandar Dinev, producing visual and campaign content. His experience in film eventually extended behind the camera. As a behind-the-scenes photographer, Teo worked on “Nikola Nikola,” directed by Leon Ristov, alongside acclaimed Macedonian cinematographer Samir Ljuma, known for the Oscar-nominated film Honeyland, as well as Ognen Antov and other esteemed members of the production team. This combination of creative production, marketing, communications, sales, and firsthand experience as both a creator and performer ultimately shaped Teo’s entrepreneurial direction. In 2024, he founded PIC A PRO, a technology platform designed around the needs of photographers, videographers, editors and other creatives. The project brings together his experience behind the camera with his background in marketing, business, and technology, with the goal of making the business side of creative work simpler, more accessible, and more creator-friendly.Outside of his professional work, Teo’s interests remain just as varied: basketball, skiing, weightlifting, playing guitar, history, languages, and creative writing. From piano lessons and poetry to film sets, cameras, campaigns, and startups, Teo has never really had just one thing - and he doesn’t intend to.
